Romain Champalaune, born in 1989, is a photographer and filmmaker based in Rennes, France.

After graduating from the French National School of Photography Louis-Lumière, he explored various facets of the Iranian society, before switching to a reflection (still ongoing) on economic power. How to show the invisible?

His visual investigations were published in Le Monde, Mediapart, Libération, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, D La Repubblica, WIRED, Marie-Claire, among others.

In 2015, he directed his first short film, “Samsung Galaxy”, selected at numerous film festivals, including at the Clermont-Ferrand international short film festival.

In 2019, his second film, “Life & Death of Oscar Perez” received the Jury Prize at the Brive film festival.

He is currently developing his first feature film scripts, while regularly collaborating with the show “HUMAN” on the Dutch public television network NPO.

Teaming-up with the art-therapist Solène Raclot, he conducts film workshops in various schools across the Paris region, in collaboration with the bibliothèque publique d’information (Centre Pompidou).

He is a member of Films en Bretagne, SNAPcgt, La Saif, La Scam.
